Coast Guard rescue in Malahide Estuary
A man and woman were rescued from Malahide Estuary by the Coast Guard on Monday evening after their boat capsized.
The alarm was raised after 5pm when shouts for help were heard by members of the public coming from the Estuary.
Coast Guard search teams from Howth station and a Coast Guard helicopter were immediately tasked.
The Howth team searched the shoreline with torches, while helicopter searched the water.
The pair were located by helicopter and winched aboard.
They were wearing lifejackets and were treated by Coast Guard paramedics for exposure to cold water and transferred to Dublin Airport.
